Signacon Controls, Inc. was one of the largest systems integration companies in New York state.  It was sold to Pinkerton Systems Integration (PSI) in 1997, with the expectation that the regional company would be expanded.  Due to a change in Pinkerton's marketing strategy, Signacon's offices in Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo, New York were sold to local regional companies.  The former president of Signacon, Robert Schaps, was employed as the Northeast Regional Vice President of PSI until October, 1999.  At that time, he left PSI, and started RZS Solutions, Inc (RZS).  RZS continues to be the regional representative for the Gamewell Emergency Alarm units and the Digitize, Inc. Alarm Transmission, Reception, and Graphic Management Systems, in addition to Traffic Control, PLC, and Intelligent Transportation Systems used by New York City Transit and other agencies.  The unparalleled security systems engineering and design that Signacon was well known for is now provided by RZS.
